... and some more wax...

When the first layer of wax had dried, I took off some of the excess using a soft brush and a piece of cloth. The coat was already quite thick so I decided to not put on too much more.
I still wanted to try building a bit of a burst look, with darker edges, so I switched from the warmer color wax to the charcoal color wax and built up some darker stain on the edges.
The wax would typically dry for approx. 15 to 30 minutes - this picture was taken right after the application:

Once it had dried, I rubbed off the excess again. This is the result so far:



The burst effect is not very visible especially on the front, where large parts will also be covered by the pickguard, but I don't want to add further wax as I don't want the coat to get too thick and the guitar too sticky.
Anyway I like the look very much, and the back reflects nicely the burst effect...


(Also, I can't really wait any longer for moving on and completing the guitar...)
